An intricate papercut picture showing a Paperkite Butterfly. Cut in black card and framed in a deep box frame. We created this stunning papercut butterfly artwork from a photograph we took in the World Museum in Liverpool. We had taken our daughter to the museum when she was only two years old and they have an amazing collection of insects on display. Our daughter was mesmerised by the Butterflies, so we asked her to point out her favourite. She pointed to a stunning Paperkite butterfly, with gorgeous ivory and black wings. We took a photo and when we got home we started work on this piece of art. The butterfly is incredibly intricate, following the pattern of the wings perfectly, some sections are only a fraction of a milimetre thick. The finished piece is gorgeous in its simplicity. When framed and placed in a well lit space the intricacy creates a magical shadow in the mount. This piece of wall decor would sit perfectly in a contemporary home, and make an ideal gift for anyone who loves nature and the world around us. The scene is lasercut in to a single piece of paper. This piece is then mounted into a box frame ensuring the scene stays flat and true. The piece is mounted onto the front of the frame elevating the piece away from the back of the frame, enabling the shadow to be cast. All scenes come fully framed in a black box frame which can be wall hung or left freestanding. Each frame comes with a clear acrylic front, not glass.
