Jessica Lange plays a defence lawyer trying to block the extradition of her father (Armin Muller-Stahl), a Hungarian steelworker who is accused of having been a sadistic Nazi torturer during World War II. As the trial proceeds and her strategic defence begins to take shape, Jessica Lange must confront the possibility that her father is not who he says he is.
