This is my Dogs Head Fire Companion Set, both practical & an attractive focal point for your hearth, which is perfect for Dog lover, my Canine motif is based on a Celtic Hound design. The stand is Dog/Hound's Head Topped as well & looks great next to your fireplace & can fit into a rustic cottage or a modern style home. I also do a 3 piece set for those that don't need the Tongs. This is a large set, the tools are approximately 45-50 cm long, with the tools standing approx 50cm high, with four fire tools, Hound Topped Fire Poker, Hound ends on the handles of the Coal & Log Tongs, Hound Topped Dustpan & a Hound Topped Dustpan & Brush. My Fire Tools are heirloom pieces & as long as they are cared for will last generations. They are finished with wax, so this wax may need to be renewed occassionally. Both the clear wax - Renaissance Wax, & Black Wax, Jacobean Briwax are commonly available, as paste waxes, simply rub on & buff when dry. Obviously on the 'business end' of the tools, the wax will burn off, I'd advise at the end of the season to treat with wax to keep from corrosion. They have a natural steel waxed finish, can also be finished in a black wax. These sets are made to order so please allow 21 days, I do aim to get them out before then but sometimes my workload is such it's just not possible.
