Cow & Gate Comfort Milk Powder is designed for bottlefed babies from birth to 1 year to help with the dietary management of colic or constipation.
How is Cow & Gate Comfort different from other milks?
Because their digestive systems are still growing and developing, some babies may not be able to fully digest some of the ingredients found in standard infant milks. Cow & Gate Comfort has been specially formulated with:
Less than half the lactose found in standard infant milks
Partially digested whey proteins
A special vegetable fat blend
Added starch for a thicker formula
Key nutrients, just like those found in our standard infant milks
How is Cow & Gate Comfort different from other colic remedies?
The exact causes of colic are often unknown and may be due to a number of factors. The ingredients in Cow & Gate Comfort can help tackle several potential causes of colic in bottlefed babies. It is suitable as a sole source of nutrition from birth and as part of a weaning diet from 6 months.
Most other colic remedies only tackle one potential cause of colic at a time. Colic remedies such as Infacol and Dentinox may help reduce excess gas, one of the potential causes of colic, while other remedies, such as Colief, may help babies with a reduced ability to digest lactose, another potential cause of colic. It is not advisable to combine these remedies with Comfort milk.
What teat should I use?
Cow & Gate Comfort is thicker than some other milks - for a more controlled intake. The thickness gives a more even flow to help your baby take in less air when feeding. Try either a variable flow teat or one with a single hole (either a medium or fast flow) and see what suits your baby best.
When can I expect the symptoms to improve?
Every baby is different - you may notice that their symptoms start to improve after a few days
